Amen!!! I don't understand why the State is so parsimonious about feeding children. They stress over 3rd and 4th grade reading scores and not about the nutritional health of those same students for whom a good meal would make a difference.

Of course, states can pay off lunch debts. My state had a surplus of about $2 Billion from the previous administration.
My state calls it the rainy day fund.
